Guidelines and Information for Entering a School Exhibit

Exhibits are required to be displayed throughout the week of the fair. Exhibitors are required to place their exhibits in the Education Building on Friday, October 3rd or Monday, October 6th unless other arrangements have been made with the Education Department Chairman. The South Central Fair will provide a monetary award for each exhibit. Schools are encouraged to place exhibits that represent their entire schools and to encourage individual departments, clubs, and student organizations within the school to participate with their own exhibits.

Exhibitors will need to contact Ernie Conner at the Mecklenburg County School Board or email him to reserve a space prior to Friday, October 5th. Each school which reserves wall or floor space will find a sign posted indicating which area has been assigned to them. DO NOT PLACE AN EXHIBIT IN A SPACE THAT HAS NOT BEEN ASSIGNED TO YOU. PRIOR APPROVAL IS REQUIRED.
All display sizes will be 8 feet wide and 8 feet tall. (19 have floor platforms and wall space) There are 6 with electrical outlets with no platform. I recommend that you reserve your space early if you have a preference.
The fair provides schools with an outstanding opportunity to inform the citizens of Southside Virginia that we are proud of our schools and their accomplishments. Please make sure that your school and/or program name is clearly marked in your display.

All exhibits must be picked up by 6:00 P.M. by Tuesday, October 14th. It is extremely important to have all exhibits removed by this date unless other arrangements have been made with the fair officials. Any materials not taken down by Tuesday (without prior approval) may be discarded by fair officials.

Anyone needing additional information should contact Ernie Conner, Director of Technology and Career Education with the Mecklenburg County School Board at (434) 447-7631, 738-6111
